The solar energy is back. Every time the oil price are up, the solar energy is back in the agenda. The same cycle was present during the 1970's oil crises. A lot of industry was rushing to install solar panels, by then an infant industry. After the oil prices stabilized, the solar panel were forgotten.
In
200-62007 the cycle is back, but this time the trend will stay. As
the oil is reaching $100 a barrel, and no lower price is in the see,
the solar energy, cheap, abundant and clean, will be the future.
Fossil fuels (passee) are contaminating, generating
greenhouse gas emissions, and come from unreliable sources and
countries.
In a normal household, 2,000-2300 SF, installing solar panels for water heating and electric energy generation, can save up to $150,00 a month ($1,800/year) on the electric bill, beside the important improving in carbon signature and saving on oil imports.
Shipments for solar thermal collectors rose 29% from 2005 to 2006, according to the U.S. Energy information Administration. contributing to the growth was the Energy Act of 2005, witch offers new tax incentive for solar installations.
